Chita Distillery
Chita distillery is located in the port of Nagoya, in central Japan. It is the second distillery of Suntory founded in 1972 by Keizo Saji – company’s second Master Blender.
In order to have access to grain whiskies and explore more options in whisky flavor and blended whisky techniques, a steady quality grain whisky source was required.
The Chita distillery provided just that. With a continuous multiple column distillation process and corn as the main grain used for distillation, Suntory was now able to expand in whisky expressions.
Although Grain distillers usually produce one type of whisky-and that’s the heavy-type, Chita distillery produces three different types: clean-type, medium-type and heavy-type.
A distillery bottling is available as well, as the “Chita Single Grain Whisky”.
