The equipment that Alexander Wilson used for the founding of Inchgower came from Tochineal distillery which was closed and dismantled.
Things didn’t go as planned as Alexander Wilson & Co went bankrupt in 1936. The local community tried their best to save the distillery and they achieved it.

In 1936 the Council of Buckie purchased the site and sold it to Arthur Bell & Sons 3 years later, in 1939.

As a key ingredient in Bells blends, the capacity of the distillery was doubled in 1966 when two more stills were installed.

After Bell’s mergers with Guinness and the Allied Distillers, Diageo is the current owner of the distillery.
Diageo continues to treat Inchgower as a key ingredient for their blends, so one of the very rare occasions that single malt expression of the distillery can be found, is bottlings regarding the flora & fauna range
