John Jameson was the general manager and by 1805 he would get full ownership of the distillery.
After its initial expansion, in 1810 its name would be changed to John Jameson & Son Bow Street Distillery.

The distillery would keep up with production and expansion for more than 100 years but after 1920 Irish Whiskey on its whole would face huge challenges regarding its future.

The Prohibition in the U.S., the Economic trade war with Great Britain as well as the introduction of Scotch Blended Whisky downgraded the demand for Irish Whiskey to extremely low levels.

The distilleries that survived this crisis, decided to cooperate in order not to end up in closing as well, and 1n 1966 John Jameson & Son, Cork Distilleries Company and John Power & Son formed the Irish Distillers Group and moved all of their production in Midleton distillery.

In 1971 the Jameson Bow Street Distillery had to close and nowadays it works as a visiting center with some of the old equipment still available for visitors to see.
