Part of the Glendronach distillery's Vintage Cask Bottlings series, this expression was distilled back in 1993 and then spent 25 years in Port Pipes. A limited release, as in 2019 only 835 bottles were produced.
GlenDronach distillery is located near Forgue, Highlands. It was founded in 1826 by James Allardice.
In 1830 Walter Scott bought the distillery and in 1837 a fire destroyed it almost completely.
The following years the distillery would face an expansion and changes in the ownership status.
In 1920 Charles Grant, son of the founder of Glenfiddich distillery would be the new owner for the next 40 years where in the meantime two more stills were added, and William Teacher & Sons would buy the distillery in 1960
Then in 1996 the distillery was mothballed until 2002 when it resumed production.
In 2005 Chivas Brothers acquired the distillery and at the same time the traditional method of heating with coal fire was replaced with steam.
BenRiach Distillery Company took over three years later in 2008 until 2016 when Brown Forman
becomes the new owner, until today.
GlenDronach distillery is known for the combination of the Highland character in whisky with Casks from Spain who previously held Pedro Ximenez or Oloroso sherry.
